How to prepare for a semi-nude or nude maternity photoshoot
It’s actually quite easy to prepare for a nude or semi nude maternity photoshoot. There are a few key things to remember before you come so you can feel comfortable and ready. Importantly, come as you are and be prepared to enjoy!
These are some of the most beautiful images to capture! As a photographer, I really enjoy these nude maternity photoshoots.
Relax - It’s beautiful and I have a lot of experience with these maternity photography sessions. You are welcome as you are. If you are nervous or unsure, that is completely normal - everything is fine! Nude and semi-nude maternity portraits are a niche in which I specialise. I am used to photographing women who have varying levels of comfort in front of the camera or have never been photographed before. My studio is private and homey, it’s the perfect place to have an intimate maternity photography session in Sydney.
Skin Marks - don’t wear any tight clothing that will mark your skin before the session. Some bras and tight pants etc can leave marks on the skin, and best not to be captured in nude maternity portraits. But don’t worry if you arrive with a few marks as I can easily photoshop these out!
Clothing - Bring something to wear so we can do semi-nude or clothed options as well. It’s nice to have a few different outfits to change into. I suggest lingerie, bra, and swimmers. A scarf, skirt, dress, or similar kind of flowing fabric to wrap around yourself. Think about if you want to bring a necklace or some jewellery as well.
Stretch marks - It’s normal. Stretch marks are fine to capture and common in pregnancy when you are growing and your belly is expanding. (I can also easily photoshop them out - it is something we can discuss so you can let me know how much or how little you would like me to re-touch or photoshop your images).
Makeup - come however you feel gorgeous and yourself - whether that is with makeup or without.
