A few ideas to get the most out of your Family Photoshoot Sydney
I’ve heard many a time how stressful it can be getting kids fed, dressed and ready to jump in the car for a family photoshoot. As a mother of 3, I know it can be challenging! However, it doesn’t have to be so overwhelming. You can see it as a new adventure - having fun on the beach with the whole family. Below are some tips to help you get the most out of your Sydney family Photoshoot.
Prepare Clothes in Advance
It can be a huge stress trying to dress your entire family on the day of the photoshoot if you realise some clothes are in the laundry basket, need ironing or are misplaced. Be organised. At least a week before your family photography shoot, gather all the outfits, make sure they still fit the kids and work well together. Have everything ironed and ready to wear so it’s one less thing to think about on the day.
Most family photographers will provide you with a guide on what to wear to help you know what works best and things to avoid. As a Sydney based family photographer, after you book your family photoshoot with me, I will send you some info on what to wear for your family photography Sydney session. Select Weather Appropriate Clothing
If you are having a beach photoshoot, choose something that is not too formal. Something comfortable and more casual works well. Layering up with cosy knits look great for winter and autumn shoots. Even for summer photography sessions, always bring a top in case the weather cools (especially for late afternoon and sunset family photoshoots).
Prepare your kids
Tell the kids that a family portrait photography session has been organised. Explain that it will be lots of fun - playing with mum and dad at the beach or park, running on the sand, jumping in the water etc - so they will be excited and look forward to the day.
Bring some snacks they can have during the shoot, but opt for non-messy food such as sultanas or apples.
Ensure your kids are rested and well-fed. Plan the family portrait photography session around children’s sleep times if they still nap during the day, or go to bed early.
